A simple, refreshing way to enjoy tea without boiling it. Cold brewing brings out a smoother, gentler flavour while fresh blueberries add a naturally fruity touch.
Ingredients
- 1–2 tsp Assam Orthodox tea leaves
- 500 ml cold, filtered water
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- ½ lemon, sliced
- 4–5 fresh mint leaves
- 1–2 tsp honey, to taste
Method
- Add the tea leaves, blueberries, lemon slices, mint and honey to a glass jar or bottle.
- Pour in 500 ml of cold, filtered water and give it a gentle stir.
- Close the jar and refrigerate for 6–8 hours or overnight.
- The next day, strain the tea into a glass.
- Serve chilled, with a few fresh blueberries, mint and lemon slices for garnish.
Tip: Serve the cold brew in a tall, clear glass with plenty of ice. Add fresh blueberries and a few thin lemon slices, and finish with a small sprig of mint. For an extra touch, freeze a few blueberries with mint leaves and use them as ice cubes. The deep blue, fresh green and soft yellow create a beautiful, refreshing glass that looks just as good as it tastes.
